Hi everyone! Dr. Lazuk here; are you ready for Summer? I know I am but I personally want you to stop doing a few things that could have a lifelong impact on your skin! As a dermatologist, I've seen firsthand the importance of proper hydration for healthy, glowing skin. As we gear up for the summer months, it's crucial to adjust our skincare routines to combat the heat, sun exposure, and increased humidity that can take a toll on our skin. Here are my 8 Top Tips for properly hydrating your skin and maintaining that radiant summer glow:
One of the key players in this trend is Candela Lasers. These cutting-edge devices have revolutionized the way we approach hair removal, offering a safe, effective, and long-lasting solution for unwanted hair. At Innate Esthetics®, we swear by Candela Lasers for several reasons.
Stay Hydrated from Within: Hydrating your skin starts from the inside out. Make sure to drink plenty of water throughout the day to keep your body and skin well-hydrated. Aim for at least eight glasses of water a day, and increase your intake if you're spending time outdoors or engaging in physical activity.

2. Choose the Right Cleanser: Opt for a gentle, hydrating cleanser that won't strip your skin of its natural oils. Look for ingredients like hyaluronic acid, glycerin, or ceramides, which help to lock in moisture and keep your skin barrier healthy.
3. Exfoliate Regularly: Exfoliation is key to removing dead skin cells and allowing your moisturizers to penetrate more effectively. However, be mindful not to over-exfoliate, especially during the summer when your skin may be more sensitive to sun exposure.
4. Use a Lightweight Moisturizer: In the summer, switch to a lightweight, oil-free moisturizer that won't feel heavy on your skin. Look for formulas that are non-comedogenic and contain hydrating ingredients like aloe vera, vitamin E, or shea butter.
5. Add a Hydrating Serum: Incorporating a hydrating serum into your skincare routine can provide an extra boost of moisture. Look for serums containing ingredients like hyaluronic acid, niacinamide, or peptides, which help to plump and hydrate the skin.
6. Don't Forget Sun Protection: Sunscreen is a non-negotiable step in any skincare routine, especially during the summer months. Choose a broad-spectrum sunscreen with SPF 30 or higher and reapply every two hours, or more frequently if you're swimming or sweating.
7. Hydrate Overnight: Use a hydrating overnight mask or cream to replenish your skin while you sleep. Ingredients like ceramides, squalane, or collagen can help to repair and hydrate your skin overnight, leaving you with a refreshed complexion in the morning.
8. Limit Hot Showers: While a hot shower may feel relaxing, it can strip your skin of its natural oils and lead to dryness. Opt for lukewarm water instead, and try to limit your shower time to around 10 minutes to prevent excessive drying.
By following these simple steps, you can keep your skin hydrated, healthy, and glowing throughout the summer season. Remember, consistency is key, so make sure to stick to your skincare routine and listen to your skin's needs. Here's to a summer filled with radiant, hydrated skin!
