The procedure involves drawing blood, separating it into three layers, and injecting the concentrated platelets into the affected area. PRP contains platelets, cytokines, and growth factors, which have anti-inflammatory properties. PRP injections can help with pain relief, functional improvement, and wound healing. PRP has been used for years to treat professional athletes, and is now increasingly used to help active adolescents and adults with sports and other orthopedic injuries.
